JACKSONVILLE AREA GOLF ASSOCIATION
(JAGA)

“JACKSONVILLE JUNIOR GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP”

PLAYER CODE OF CONDUCT

JAGA is very thankful for the involvement of players, parents, host families and friends in this event. The JAGA Junior Golf Championship has established rules and guidelines for both participants, their families and friends/spectators during the tournament.

JAGA firmly believes that with the opportunity to participate in golf events like this comes the responsibility to understand and adhere to the established U.S.G.A. rules and guidelines, and local rules established for the tournament.

JAGA, therefore, requires that all participants, their families and friends/spectators adhere to the “Jacksonville Junior Golf Championship” Code of Conduct while participating in the event.

1. Proper Attire:  Upon arrival at the golf course, all players are expected to act and
dress in a manner appropriate for the game.

  • Appearance during practice rounds and tournament competition should be in keeping with the following: tank tops, tee shirts, short shorts, and jeans are not acceptable attire.
  • During play, collared shirts or mocks must be worn and tucked in at all times. Girls may wear sleeveless golf shirts.
  • If a hat, cap or visor is worn, it is to be displayed in an appropriate manner and should be removed while indoors when in the host facility.
  • Earrings and body piercing is prohibited on male participants.

2. Alcohol, Tobacco, and Drugs:  The use of any of these substances on or off the
golf course is prohibited and is serious enough to cause the player to be
    disqualified.

 3. Etiquette/On-Course Behavior:  Any breach of established guidelines
for etiquette/on-course behavior that is deemed to be serious and can result in
a player being disqualified as provided for under USGA, Rule 33-7.

A serious breach of etiquette or on-course behavior may include, but not be
     limited to the following:

  • Abusive or inappropriate language.
  • Being disrespectful to course officials, competitors, volunteers, or golf professionals.
  • Throwing clubs, kicking or throwing the golf bag.
  • Any unnecessary or intentional damage to the golf course or property.
  • Notification of a JAGA official is required prior to leaving the golf course during a competitive round when withdrawing for any reason.
