 ENTRY APPLICATION INFORMATION

 

ELIGIBILITY: 

Entries are open to all amateur junior golfers 18 years of age and younger as of July 15, 2009.

Male and female golfers will compete in two separate divisions for the tournament.

Entries are subject to rejection at any time (including during competition) by the Tournament Committee. The reason for rejection will generally involve a violation or serious breach of the rules and/or guidelines for the tournament.

ENTRIES:

All players are to register online by going to www.nfjg.org and completing the Entry Application information and submitting it along with executing online payment of the $90.00 entry fee.

All entries must be received by Monday, July 6, 2009.

The Entry Fee payment is due at the time of registration. Player registration and the payment of entry fees are done online at www.nfjg.org.

Entry Fees will be refunded if the Tournament Committee (contact George Halvorsen at 904-273-2156 or e-mail: thehalvorsens@bellsouth.net) is notified that a player is withdrawing from the tournament. The amount of the refund will be net of expenses (not to exceed $10.00) incurred to process the original payment and execute the refund.

Please note that no refunds will be made if notification is received within 7 days of the starting date for the tournament.

SCHEDULE:

The competition will be 36 holes, at stroke play, held on July 14 and 15, 2009 (Tuesday and Wednesday) at the Ponte Vedra Golf & Country Club with starting times beginning at 7:30 am each day.

FLIGHTS:

The competition will be conducted in male and female divisions for the championships.

The male championship will be played from the TBD tees at TBD yards. The female championship will be played from the TBD tees at TBD yards.

The age divisions for male players will be: 16 –18; 13 –15; and 12 & under. For female players the age division will be 18 and under.

PLACES/TIES:

The lowest player scores for 36 holes will be the division champion. In the event of a tie, the champion will be decided immediately by a hole-by-hole playoff.  All playoffs will begin at hole #1. Ties for all other places will be decided by a final round score card match using the complete final round – back nine, last six, last three hole groupings. If any ties remain, the Tournament Committee will decide by lot.

SPECTATORS:

Spectators must stay at least 20 yards away from all players and must not assist players in anyway. Players receiving advice from spectators will be penalized, as appropriate, and the spectators in question may be subject to removal from the golf course.

RULES OF GOLF/CLOSE OF COMPETITION:

Play will be governed by the Rules of Golf as approved by the U.S.G.A. and modified by the Local Rules. The Tournament Committee will decide on rules questions when necessary and its decision will be final.

The competition shall be deemed to have closed when the Championship Trophy(s) have been presented.

DOUBT AS TO PROPER PROCEDURE:

Please note that U.S.G.A. Rule 3-3 is to be followed if the player is in doubt as to the proper procedure to use and wishes to play a second ball.

GOLF EQUIPMENT AND GOLF BALLS:

Only golf equipment and conforming golf ball brands approved for use by the U.S.G.A. will be allowed.

CADDIES/PULLCARTS:

Players are prohibited from using caddies. Although pull carts are permitted, players are encouraged to carry their own golf bags during play. Players desiring to use pull carts are responsible to provide their own carts.

TIME OF STARTING:

The optional condition for time of starting prescribed in Appendix 1, Part C, Paragraph 2 of the U.S.G.A. Rules of Golf shall be in effect.

PRACTICE PRIVILEGES:

Practice privileges at the Ponte Vedra Golf & Country Club will be the same as normal conditions of play. Players may play practice rounds up to one (1) week prior to the event. Tee times may be obtained from the Golf Shop staff at 904-285-5552.

LOCAL RULES:

Please see JAGA, Local Rules and Conditions of Play. This information is available online and when players register the day of the tournament.

Distance measuring devices will not be permitted during play.

INCLEMENT WEATHER:

If weather conditions warrant termination of play, tournament officials will sound a horn. At that time players must terminate play, marking their ball position and seek the nearest available shelter. Three (3) short blasts of the horn will signal resumption of play.

CONDITIONS/SCHEDULES:

The Tournament Committee reserves the right to alter any of the tournament conditions and schedules, as may be needed. The decision of the Tournament Committee in any matter shall be final.

PERSONAL APPEARANCE/CONDUCT:

Players must wear appropriate golf attire and be neat in appearance with respect to personal grooming and clothing. Inappropriate conduct and behavior is not acceptable and a player may be appropriately penalized for this type of breach of the rules and guidelines.
